Mechanical engineering company Wiedenmann has moved into its new office premises at the company headquarters in Rammingen. The offices were built within ten months from an existing structural fabric. It is an impressive building thanks to a huge degree of high-tech. Over 1.6 million Euros were invested.
This conversion work meant that Wiedenmann was able to gain around 2000 m2 useable floor space. The new building tract is not intended solely for administration, it is also for boosting sales: An integrated exhibition shows varying components of the extensive product programme which incorporates machines for maintaining green areas, for the disposal of dirt and for cold-weather service.
"The specification was for something modern and efficient," says managing director Jürgen Wiedenmann. A walk through the rooms shows the impressive result which also puts the company in a position of pioneer in environmental protection: "We recover two thirds of the heat generated." To this end, a sophisticated ventilation system was installed which means airing by opening and closing windows is superfluous. Dense insulation of walls and ceiling keeps the room cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Noise insulation of the latest kind is installed in the open-plan office: Absorbers not only diffuse high-frequency noise but also even the low noises of buzzing office equipment. Claudia Effmert, who has only been with Wiedenmann for a few weeks, is full of praise: "This is how to make work fun". The room lighting is also clever; it automatically adjusts to the level of sunlight. A superb atmosphere for the 45 workplaces in the building.
Wiedenmann is considered a showcase company. The family company was established in 1964 and is one of the world's leading manufacturers in this field. For years now, this mechanical engineering company, which comprises 95 staff members at its German site and 150 employees at the factory in Hungary, has been growing by 14 percent per annum - that's double the industry average. The export quota of 73 percent illustrates how global business has become. Not only Europe but also America, Asia and Australia are booming markets where Wiedenmann gathers orders to bring back to the Swabian province. Globetrotting visitors might be pleasantly surprised; they used to think that such modern company headquarters were only to be found in the metropolises of the world.
